Sunset Elementary Enrichment Drive (SEED) was founded in 2005 by a group of involved parents.

 

SEED’s objective is to advocate and raise funds for innovative technology and curricular initiatives at Sunset Elementary, while remaining flexible and sensitive to Sunset's needs. Funds are raised through grants and by reaching out to individuals, corporations, and foundations that contribute to educational causes. SEED also fundraises for endeavors at Sunset Elementary that are generally not the responsibility of Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS).

 

 

                                      

                                         The Brick Campaign

SEED invites you to be a part of paving the way to enhancing the educational excellence at Sunset Elementary. Purchasing a brick (value ranging from $100 to $1,000) will be an easy way to leave a lasting legacy on the International Plaza of Sunset Elementary, and at the same time help with funding educational tools and programs not funded by MDPS or other parent organizations.

Dear Friends of SEED:

 

The SEED Board is committed to garnering additional resources focused in support of enhanced educational resources to our teachers and students.

 

The Spring 2011 Sunset Gala raised $72,000 dollars which helped provide Smart Boards for our second grade students. This funding followed the previous years’ dollars that were raised to provide the third grade students Smart Boards. Our SEED Board developed on innovative plan to provide $15,000 in teacher mini-grants to support educational excellence. I had the honor to recently present the awards to 9 Sunset Teachers at the Faculty Meeting.

 

You will shortly be having about our spring Brick Campaign to continue to support educational excellence for our kids. Your continued support through a purchase of a brick will make a world of difference to our teachers and students.

 

WE are so grateful for the financial support of our parents, Sunset alumni and the business community that have helped to make Sunset Elementary such a special place.
